SHORT DESCRIPTION

Almaty, formerly known as Alma-Ata, is Kazakhstan's largest city, with a population exceeding two million residents. Despite no longer being the capital, Almaty remains the most cosmopolitan and influential city in Kazakhstan, often regarded as the nation's cultural and financial heart, and is colloquially referred to as the "Southern Capital." It is classified as a city of republican significance, granting it autonomy from regional governance. The city is divided into eight administrative districts within the framework of its republican significance. Turkestan, located in southern Kazakhstan, is a city with a rich history spanning over 1,500 years. It has been a significant center of science, literature, culture, and trade along the Great Silk Road. In December 2023, Turkestan was officially designated as the tourist capital of the Turkic States, highlighting its cultural and historical importance.
